Like many musical ideas, Slide Attack came about one night while hanging out on a gig. We were on a break, and as many musicians do, we were talking about music, bands and jazz. Both of us have a strong admiration for two master trombonists, J.J. Johnson and Kai Winding, who had a very successful quintet in the mid 1950’s. That conversation led to some rehearsals, writing, acquiring arrangements, and eventually our first CD. Our concept is simple. Perform great music that is enjoyable for us, fellow musicians, and most importantly, you, our listeners.
